Cubs

Cubs

Cub Scouts are the middle Section in the Scouting family. Young people can join Cub Scouts at 8 until 10.5. They can move to the next Section, Scouts, around 10.5 years old.

Recognised by their green sweatshirt will get a chance to try lots of different activities like swimming, music, exploring, computing and collecting. If you do them properly you will get a badge which you can wear on your uniform.

At St James Hill we run two popular Cub Scout groups. Blackroot Pack (Monday night) and Bracebridge Pack (Tuesday night). They usually meet in term times at 7pm until 8.30pm at the Scout Hut.

Blackroot: Cub Pack Mascot

Blackroot has been part of Scouting for almost 40 years, and takes the very important role of Camp Supervisor. He’s a full-time Cub and has been to every Cub camp since getting involved.

Fun Fact: Blackroot loves campfires but isn’t very good with the actions!
