Cub Mania’24

Date: 27th Jun 2024 Author: Julie Bardsley

Tuesday cubs had a fabulous time at County Camp with 600 cubs and 200 leaders from the Birmingham County.

It was a great weekend, enjoyed by everyone and showing the cubs that they are part of a fantastic organisation.

They had the opportunity to join in lots of activities which were split into 3 zones with an additional craft zone:

  • Fun Mania, activities included – Water Zone, Bounce Zone and Circus Skills Zone.
  • Skills Mania, where cubs were taught traditional scouting skills of fire lighting, boiling water in a ghillie kettle to make hot chocolate and, of course,  you can’t have a fire at camp without toasting marshmallows.
  • Adventure Mania, where cubs experienced Blackwell’s Adventure Activities including Tree Trekking, obstacle course and Laser Tag.

The opening ceremony on Friday evening was circus themed with performances from trapeze artists, jugglers and a fire eater.
