For me scouts is many things. A place of opportunities, a place to make friends and a place to learn new skills.

To me, I think scouts is very good because I learn things that I wouldn’t necessarily learn for example I recently participated in a cooking competition against nine other scout groups. In this district cooking competition, we were challenged to create 5 , 3 course meals with a drink and we had to do all this within a budget of £20. This challenge tested our ability to cook and also our ability to budget. I found the cooking competition very fun to compete in and so did my friends in my scouts group. Overall, this competition was a great experience for me and it also helped me improve on my cooking skills as well as my budgeting skills.

Scouts provides may opportunities like this and more, which is one of the reasons why I really do enjoy scouts. Without scouts I wouldn’t have had these experiences and more importantly I wouldn’t have had these experiences to learn from.
